My current research is in the broad areas of data management, software engineering, high-performance systems, and service management. In these broad areas, I am interested in data analytics, modeling, platforms and data as services, distributed computing, scalable computing, component-oriented programming, and service-oriented programming. In service management, I am interested in both computational and non-computational aspects of modeling, development and deployment strategies, and benchmarks.

I love collaborative and inter-disciplinary research which produces end-to-end solutions to real-world problems. I enjoy involving students in my research and welcome collaboration requests.

Outside my teaching responsibilities, I head the Data Science & Systems Lab (DASSL, read dazzle) which conducts research inĀ data scienceĀ and data-intensive systems. In addition, DASSL promotes scientific research and scholarship among undergraduate students.

See the Publications page for a somewhat complete list of my papers, book chapters, invited talks, and the like.
