WCSU CS department maintains a subscription to the Microsoft Imagine Premium program which provides some free software for its students, faculty, and staff to install on their own machine. Access to the software catalog is limited only to those currently affiliated with the CS department.

Access to the catalog is not guaranteed. It is provided merely as an added benefit to people affiliated with the CS department. The department reserves the right to end subscription in the program at any time or revoke access from anyone for reasons including but not limited to non-affiliation and misuse.

Read the following summary FULLY before accessing the catalog:

You are expected to download, install, use, and uninstall any software in this catalog according to program agreements (provided to you at registration, and possibly with each software download). For starters, you may:

  • access this catalog only as long as you are affiliated with WCSU CS department, and
  • install software downloaded from this catalog only on your own computer

Students: Students enrolled in qualifying CS courses should be authorized to register by the third week of the semester and should have also received a registration mail by then. (OK if you cannot find the registration mail. See below.) Access to the catalog ends when the semester ends.

Registration: Use the link in the registration mail. If you have not received a registration mail, use the Register option on the catalog home page. Registration initiates a verification mail with instructions to complete the registration process. You need to complete the process described in the verification mail.

User ID: Your WCSU e-mail address is your user ID. Your password is whatever you choose.

If the catalog refuses registration: If most students in your class do not have access to the catalog, it is unlikely your class qualifies. If your instructor does not inform the class of the catalog, it is unlikely your course/section qualifies. (Some students in your class may qualify due to being in another qualifying class.)

If you are indeed in a qualifying class, use the “Request an account” option on the page where you saw the message refusing registration. Provide a clear rationale for why you need access. Requests with vague and unclear rationale are not entertained.

Downloading software: Add software to your cart and hit download. Write down the product key because you will need it for installation.

Product keys for software already downloaded: Open the page containing your Account/Orders and view the details for the order corresponding to the software of interest. The product key should be included in the order detail. If you do not see an order detail for the software, you probably have not downloaded it. If you need to, download the software again from the order detail. No one else can provide you software or product keys.

Non-Microsoft software: The catalog may occasionally include software from vendors other than Microsoft as a benefit to subscribers of the Microsoft Imagine program. You are solely responsible for reading and complying with the agreements associated with such additional software.

Support: In general, support is very limited. Absolutely no support for password reset, product keys, and other issues for which support is already built in to the catalog. Please verify your question is not already answered before contacting support (see the Help page). Remember, all you can do in the catalog is just download software.

Support is only for those affiliated with WCSU CS department and only for incidents related to the Microsoft Imagine program. Only support requests originating from the catalog are reviewed. No direct mail to any CS faculty or staff.
