WCSU Philanthropies

Ann’s Place is one of the two philanthropies of the Greek organization, Delta Gamma Phi. This organization is a compassionate nonprofit serving Connecticut and Hudson Valley New York with professional counseling, support groups, wellness activities and educational resources. It is also found locally to WCSU in Danbury.
Mission: “Our Mission is to provide comfort, support and resources to people living with cancer and to their loved ones”

Dream Come True of Western Connecticut is the main philanthropy of the greek organization, Kappa Chi Alpha. This organization is a non-profit organization that has a goal to fulfill the DREAMS of seriously, chronically and terminally ill children in the Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven Counties of Connecticut.
Mission: “Our mission is to fulfill the DREAMS of chronically and terminally ill children, throught the help of our Volunteers, Individual and Corporate Donations, Sponsorships, Grants, Planned Giving, Memorial Tributes and our various Fundraising Events.”

The Huntsman Cancer Institute is the main philanthropy of the greek organization, Sigma Chi. This is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center serving Utah, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. The cancer center aims to deliver a cancer-free frontier through impactful discovery and innovation in cancer research, cancer clinical care, and access to and delivery of that care.
Mission: “Our mission is to aim for a future free from cancer. To realize, this, we prioritize and assess community health, patient access, and improved outcomes, reducing barriers to care for all.”

Jewish Women International, or JWI, is the first of the four philanthropies of the greek organization, Sigma Delta Tau. This organization is the leading Jewish organization championing women and girls by preventing domestic violence and sexual abuse; addressing the intersection of domestic violence and gun violence; building pathways to long-term economic security, and strengthening access to every level of leadership in our communities, workplaces, and country.
Mission: “Our mission is to create a world, free of violence and inequity, where all women and girls thrive.”

The National Organization for Rare Disorders is the second of the two philanthropies of the Greek organization, Delta Gamma Phi. This organization is a nonprofit organization, based in Connecticut, aiming to provide support for individuals with rare diseases by advocating and funding research, education, and networking among service providers.
Mission: “Our mission is to solve the greatest challenges and unmet needs in rare disease patient care, treatment and research.”

Prevent Child Abuse America, or PCAA is the second of the four philanthropies of the greek organization, Sigma Delta Tau. This organization is the oldest and largest organization committed to preventing child abuse and neglect before it happens.
Mission: “Our Mission is to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation’s children.”

The Ronald McDonald Charity House is the main philanthropy of the greek organization, Alpha Delta Pi. This organization is an independent American nonprofit organization whose stated mission is to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children.
Mission: “Our mission is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare.”

The Sigma Delta Tau Foundation is the third of the four philanthropies of the greek organization, Sigma Delta Tau. This foundation is committed to empowering SDT sisters to grow personally and professionally through annual scholarship opportunities, essential funding of Sigma Delta Tau educational programs, and influential charitable giving from alumnae, collegians and friends of Sigma Delta Tau.
Mission: “Our mission is to help the sisters of Sigma Delta Tau grow professionally in their lives.”

St. Jude Children Research Hospital is the main philanthropy of the greek organization, Tau Kappa Epsilon. This organization is dedicated to treating kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. In addition to patient treatment, St. Jude is focused on cutting-edge research to help us better understand pediatric cancer and how to treat it.
Mission: “The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.”

Women for Women International is the fourth of the four philanthropies of the greek organization, Sigma Delta Tau. This organization is a nonprofit humanitarian organization that provides practical and moral support to female survivors of war.
Mission: “Our mission is the create a world in which all women determine the course of their lives and reach their full potential.”
