I enjoy teaching undergraduates how to appreciate the environment and all the living organisms that are part of a given ecosystem. As a non-major (or major) you can participate in my travel courses (Bio107) to the tropics where you will learn how to think like a naturalist and sample the environment. You will meet me in Introductory Biology (Bio104) where we will learn how to observe organisms, and discuss their relevance in the ecosystem. My fascination with vertebrate structure and ecology is shared with students in Vertebrate Zoology (Bio204), where we meet experts, build skeletons, and engage in field research and policy issues. If you continue to work with me as a graduate student we will focus on herpetology, the study of amphibians and reptiles. We will concentrate on identifying local animals, managing their habitats, and engage with international experts from diverse backgrounds.
