My main line of research focuses on people’s first impressions of and stereotypes of romantic partners with dietary restrictions. I am particularly interested in how such stereotypes predict romantic interest. I also conduct research related to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. This research has focused on teaching strategies for improving the quality of discussions both within the classroom and in online discussion boards.
Undergraduate students working in the lab gain experience conducting literature reviews, collecting data, programming studies on the computer, coding data using qualitative techniques and presenting the results in local, regional and national conferences.
