Our primary charge was collecting data relevant to understanding Metro-North riders; who they are, how often they use public transit, etc. Who lives in the surrounding community, and how accessible is the public transit in their area? Seeking information about car accident rates and how safe public transit is compared to private. Relevant statistics for stakeholders. As previously stated, the stakeholders, in this case, are Metro-North riders, and members of the Danbury community. The data we are gathering will help inform and educate people on the realities of public transit and how accessible the city is, in addition to the demographic data.

Once we have a proposed route for the walk audit, gathering data/statistics about the area will be the primary objective. Data collection will be an integral part of this project and help other groups with their tasks. Gathering a wide basis of demographic data about stakeholders can allow us to better articulate how a Transit Oriented Community will benefit everyone. Each group member will research one of the various aspects related to the project. Then we will consolidate the data and pull together the most important/ relevant parts of it. So, on the day of the Walk audit, we know what we are talking about and can share this.
