\t\t\t

The position serves as the legislative branch of the Student Government Association as defined in the Governing Documents, Senator Contracts, and other relevant materials. Candidates must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 at the start of the term and throughout their term of office. One (1) senator seat per school and all available at-large senator seats can be appointed this semester.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Election Application<\/h3>\t\t\t

Election Applications will be distributed digitally via email from CSI and the SGA Secretary upon request. Election Applications will be available on the date indicated on the Election Timeline titled “Election Application Opens.” Digital submissions must be submitted by the indicated date on the Election Timeline titled “Election Application Deadline.” All applications submitted after the indicated date will not be accepted. The Official List of Candidates will be posted after the Election Application Deadline on the date and time indicated on the Election Timeline.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>

Candidate Endorsement<\/h3>\t\t\t

Candidates are NOT permitted to approach student clubs and organizations for endorsement. Should a student club or organization endorse a candidate without a request, that club or organization must submit meeting minutes to the Center for Student Involvement proving their endorsement for the candidate(s). Clubs and organizations are prohibited from publicising any endorsement for any candidate. CSI will publicize all endorsements following a review of meeting minutes received from student clubs and organizations. Candidates are expressly prohibited from requesting and\/or accepting financial contributions from any Student Clubs and Organizations or members thereof. No individual, club, organization, office, or any other group may campaign for a candidate. Students and student groups found violating this rule may face penalties from the Center for Student Involvement and\/or judicial action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>

Individual Campaigning<\/h3>\t\t\t

Individual Campaigning shall be defined as speaking in an academic classroom during a class session. Each classroom talk MUST be recorded in its entirety. The recording must begin with the candidate starting the recording in its entirety. The recording must begin with the candidate starting the recording and must end with the candidate ending the recording. Editing of any recording is strictly prohibited. Each recording MUST be sent to the Graduate Intern for Clubs and Organizations no more than 24 hours after the recording takes place through email. Each candidate may only submit their own recordings. Each candidate may only promote their intended initiatives through their position in SGA and or promote the general election.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>

Voting Period<\/h3>\t\t\t

All physical and digital promotional materials posted by the Center for Student Involvement during the Campaigning Period will be allowed to remain up for the entirety of the Voting Period. New or individual promotional materials posted during the Voting Period are strictly prohibited and may lead to the removal of candidacy under the discretion of the current Graduate Intern for Clubs and Organizations.
