The SGA Senator position is one of two member tiers in the SGA. There are currently twenty seats: eight for academic schools and twelve at-large. Senators are the only members with Senate and committee voting power, therefore SGA would not be without its Senators.

Iana Campbell (she/her)

Expected Date of Graduation: 2029

Major: BBA Management, Supervisory

Biography and Campaign Statement: My name is Iana “Missy” Campbell, and I am a Business Management major focusing on Supervisory Management. I am a Kathwari Honors student, Honors Ambassador, and an active student leader involved in several organizations on campus. I currently serve as Vice President of the Program Activities Council (PAC), President of the Black Student Union (BSU), and Vice President of the African Caribbean Student Association (ACSA). Outside of leadership, I am a singer-songwriter who loves music, creativity, and bringing people together. I am passionate about making college a more engaging, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for everyone.

I am applying to be a SGA Senator because I believe that every student deserves to feel heard, represented, and included in decisions that affect their college experience. Being involved in different organizations on campus has allowed me to see how much student involvement, communication, and collaboration matter. I want to continue using my leadership experience to advocate for students, bring their concerns, and help create meaningful opportunities for our campus community!

As a student leader, I understand that leadership is not just about having a title, but it is about listening, being approachable, following through, and being willing to speak up when something needs to change. If selected, I want to be someone students can come to with their ideas, questions, and concerns. I am committed to working with other senators and student leaders to encourage student engagement, improve communication, and make sure different views are considered. Nicolas Clancy (he/him)

Expected Date of Graduation: 2028

Major: Accounting

Biography and Campaign Statement: My name is Nicolas Clancy aged 26. I on paper am not as participatory in the WCSU community as I’d like. There are clubs and organizations I’d love to join right now. Despite lacking the current credentials, at least on paper, that promote my candidacy for Senator, my past experiences and personal prerogatives speak for themselves. Historically I’ve been an avid advocate for higher education. Testifying before Matt Ritter (speaker of the house), appropriations committee, helping organize students regarding Terrence Cheng, informing the student populace of opportunities to speak out, fought for a gym, and currently I am trying to get a bus trip to the Capitol building as well as bridge the communicatory gap between the Ancell School of Business and the SGA. In my committee I take the initiative to help the Chairs as best as I can.

Character wise I believe I can benefit the SGA as well. My knowledge is your knowledge. I am not one to hold information as a bargaining tool; rather I love to equip the student body with the information necessary to excel. I am outgoing and I view everyone as my neighbor. I believe no individual to be undeserving of my time, a community starts one on one with people becoming friends. I believe in civic responsibility and political literacy. I also do not believe in holding a title in name alone, be that title senator or student. If I am going to hold the title SGA Senator I believe in representing the students to the best of my ability.
